Effective Communication

November 14, 2018 by Teresa McCammon 9 Comments

Wow! We learned so much in our Effective Communication class! I loved that we talked about listening is a form of communication.  Have you ever caught yourself so eager to speak you jump in at the first sign the other person is taking a breath? I love this quote “One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say” Bryant H. McGill.                                                                      We had great take aways to use in our everyday life! Thanks Terri!

I was reminded to always look at myself first when things aren’t being communicated clearly. I also grabbed onto the idea that leadership is to “enlarge the lives of others” and to market the behaviors we want to see in others.

Loved this class. Effective communication is so much more than “I get my point across”. Terri does such a great job and gives us the tools to utilize the very next day. Take aways for the day were: Verbal Modeling and Communication is a discipline of Marketing. (” No one buys what you want to sell. They buy what they place value on–and how it will enhance their lives”)

Terri is spot on again! Communicating effectively is a skill to be developed and worked. With most of our communication being non-verbal,working on self first, could be the quickest way to understand what or how something is being misunderstood. Thank you for taking the time to teach us!

Loved this class! It taught me to always look at myself first and to evaluate an effective way to “get my point across”. One of my favorite concepts was the “emotional bank account”. I will definitely be more aware of my deposits and even more so… withdrawals! Another thing I most valued about the class would be “Verbal Modeling” mostly because I tend to have a tone. It taught me to match the other persons tone and emotions except of course when dealing with anger. Can’t wait for the next class! A huge Thank you for these amazing classes!!!

What a great class! Terri, once again, presented the material in such a great interactive way that it was easy to make it applicable both personally and professionally. Thanks for making it a great day!

Effective Communication was a great class! When we discussed why we need constant work on effective communication, one thing that I never really thought about before was that it gives us a deeper connection with others. I never took communication as a way to have a deeper connection but rather to just get my point or idea across. This class was great and I look forward to my next one!

I definitely enjoy being educated by Terry and Teresa (sorry if I spelled that wrong). That was a very informative class and it made me look at myself on what I could change about “me” during a situation. I will work on tones and body language (two things I didn’t even consider) in my work life as well as my personal life. That is what I love most about these classes. You walk away with new information that you can use in all aspects of your life. Well done!! Thank you.
