What! Ummm….NO! But wait!
What I am really saying is don’t procrastinate. Your frog is your worse task, you should do it first. Then you will have the worst behind you for the day.
Getting things done is a habit, if you start everyday by accomplishing something important first, you’ll get more done in your day. This is something we learned in our new Captain Series class, Winning Work Habits. Great lesson. Thank you Terri Tucker!
Thank you Terri! While I’m not crazy about frogs and certainly not eating them, what you say could not be more true. Frogs tend to grow when neglected.
Frogs must go away. They are not princes and need not hang around for the kiss! Procrastination just makes tough tasks tougher.
Eat that frog!!!! Thanks Teresa for the reminder and Phil for the analogy!
I agree! It makes for a better day when you do the froggy stuff first. 🙂
“If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. Making your bed will [reinforce] the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you’ll never be able to do the big things right.” – U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McCraven
I absolutely love this! From day one in bootcamp we are taught to make our beds and it is something that has stuck with me since. Once you complete one task you are motivated to do another and so forth. Thank you for sharing Patti.
I have been doing this since I attended the Winning Work Habits class. It makes the day feel much more productive!
I love this and it is so true! I look forward to attending this class. 🙂
Even if the small frog is the one lurking at you throughout the night, making you not want to get up in the morning, tackle that frog and get it over with. The new diet craze is drinking apple cider vinegar 1 whole cup, my husband and I tried this fad, and I would accomplish it first thing (the nastiest thing in the world)in the morning, but my hubby would wait until late in the day and spend 30 minutes talking about how bad it smelled, and how gross it was, and I would explain to him that I did mine at 6 am, and don’t have to worry about it until the next morning, it was gone, done and out of the way for the day. I begin each and every morning asking the Lord to help me with traffic, personal issues, and work issues, and then my day seems to go much better, so I guess I love the FROG (fully relying on God). Go FROGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it Cheryl! Thanks!
Yes! I always have to “eat the frog first”!! A very good habit to get into. Those frogs get smaller and smaller too. Thanks!!
This is a great habit to get into. It can make your day less stressful!

I always say it is the little things that make all the difference!
