Today we learned to Believe…Rise Above….Soar! A key word in our Mission Statement is CAREGIVER. We all talked about what we feel a caregiver is. A companion. A patient person. Someone who focus’ on the needs of others.Takes care of others. Someone dedicated and compassionate. Trustworthy. Understanding, doesn’t look down on others. Selfless. Available, present.
All these behaviors bring our Mission Statement to life! Today we have all been challenged to carry out our mission!
What will you do to Rise Above and Soar?
I just wanted to share that I had a great time in the Taking Flight class today, and as a very (very) new hire I believe it is a great on-boarding tool. I felt like I received a wonderful introduction regarding what it means to be a Phoenix employee.
Sean,
We are so thankful you have chosen Phoenix as your new beginning! Happy to have you on our team!

Sheila,
Taking Flight is just the beginning of the many classes you will take to gain insight on how to maximize your skills and provide you with the tools you need to be the best you can be!

What I believe is important to our culture and necessary to Rise Above and Soar is: “Giving the Benefit of the Doubt”. This is my favorite. Having this mindset can give any unpleasant or unwelcomed situation a positive spin. If we focus on giving the benefit of the doubt in all situations and to all employees, (even other businesses that we communicate with), it will help us focus on how to resolve the issue and what to do in the future to make things better, rather than focus on the negative.

I think what truly sets Phoenix apart from other organizations is that they don’t just have a couple of great people working for them. They are a great organization as a whole. Terri Tucker said yesterday in the Taking Flight class “You can’t train people to be friendly. You can only hire friendly people.” I have been to many different orientations and trainings for other jobs but nothing compared to how it felt yesterday! It was a fun-filled class with a great atmosphere and I also have to agree with Sean and say that it is a wonderful tool to use to truly show the leadership side what all Phoenix has to offer!
Lorra,
I am pleased that you learned in class how much of a difference Phoenix is compared to other organizations. I am excited to see you “Soar” with Phoenix as you progress in your role here.
You will gain valuable tools to apply what you learn in class to your ensure your continued success here at Phoenix!
I am so glad that you are on our team!

Melissa,
Thankful to have you on Team Phoenix!

Yesterday’s class was wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Terri’s inspiring lessons on our culture and her own (amazing) personal experiences. She truly has a wealth of knowledge and professionalism that I strive to attain some day! I was telling Brandi Crane yesterday that even though it was a Taking Flight class, I left feeling more grounded and reassured by the great culture I am now privileged to be a part of. So excited to take more classes in the near future!
Sarah,
Thankful to have you on Team Phoenix!

I attended Taking Flight on October 25. I am not a new hire. I have been employed with Phoenix since January 2012. Even though I am a “seasoned” employee, I learned a lot about the company itself, the start to now. I have always thought Phoenix was an amazing company to work for. The mission statement and actually utilizing it, wow! Every day, whether I am at work or not, I always put myself in the other person’s shoes. I ask myself “what would I like? Would I like to be treated this way? ect”, so I can give my best to whatever the situation calls for. This is what keeps me wanting to soar and rise above. Keep being amazing Phoenix!
