I attended Selling, Soaring, Serving on November 8-9. I have to say, it was my favorite class thus far. Even though I am not a marketer within Phoenix, I found many useful things that I can use within my leadership position in payroll.
My take-away from this course were:
- We cannot make people feel good. This is something I always had backwards. Someone or something cannot make me feel any certain way. It can influence me, but in the long run, I make the choice to feel a certain way. I learned that how I treat and reflect Phoenix culture to our caregivers and potential clients, can be a catalyst for how and if people choose us.
- Selling/Serving should never be about getting; it is always about giving. In the sales world, we are taught to sell and obtain more contacts and sales, which in turn means more profit for the company. I learned that if I change the way I interact with my direct link of influence and give more of myself, then those people who I gave to will in turn give more back because I have added value to their life.
- Choose positive outcomes.
- Ask yourself not only how I can help my caregivers/clinicians be successful, but if they have issues, always honor their conflict and build report with them. This makes them feel valued and trusted.
I really enjoyed this course. The meal was terrific and the fellowship was terrific. Terri Tucker knocked it out of the park once again. Thank you for this opportunity to grow within Phoenix and to learn lifelong skills to better myself.

Great feedback, Andrea! I took this class about two years ago, so this was a great refresher. I can’t wait to see you apply this to your daily routine, not only in payroll, but with Phoenix as a whole. I appreciate you!

So glad you were able to attend Andrea! Thank you for being such a great part of the payroll team, and Phoenix!
Wow! I Could not have said it better!
Leadership is where relationships are found! I have added a beautiful new word to my vocabulary as a result of taking this class. “Congruency” is changing my story. I am journaling more (maybe not perfectly) but working toward being consistent in this area and others. It takes self discipline to have more confidence, more patience. I also learned that mental imagery gets us over the obstacle….and if it’s meant to be….It’s up to me
& If it’s up to me…It will be.,
Self Leadership is the best class, its a self help and to identify who you are who you want to be,and who you can be,its a eye opener.
