RAISING THE BAR ON ORIENTATION!

January 16, 2017 by Terri Tucker 9 Comments

Exciting news.  We had an amazing day with the team of facilitators who bring our new hires the Phoenix Orientation classes.  Each traveled to the training room in Springfield and we spent the day together – along with Ursula, Mallory and Gwen to learn the tips and techniques to becoming skilled facilitators.  Phil and Kim stopped in to share a positive message of support.  Phil conveyed how important excellence in orientation is in our success equation.  The room was filled with vibrant personalities and creative energy.  I loved every minute!  As these passionate trainers begin their new journey we look forward to hearing success stories and moments of support.  Retaining the best and brightest of our new hires puts us at a significant competitive advantage.

So – FACILITATORS – – I want to hear ONE THING of significance you learned while attending the Facilitator Certification Training.  Share your stories!

Terri, I am looking forward to seeing the responses you receive. It truly was an impressive room full of “influencers”! I am excited to watch our training go to the next level in 2017.

Terri, I can not thank you and the entire team for the class that was presented to us. The “Tips and Techniques” that you shared with us will be very beneficial. To be able to learn from our experiences will be of great value. I also loved that you reminded everyone that while branding is very important, that it is not just about the clothing with our logo, but how we actually present ourselves.
If you do not like your room….change You!

We are there to help be a bridge to our new hires’ New Beginning, not make them earn the right to open the ‘gate’. We are not gatekeepers, we are bridge builders!
What a great group we had at the training. With a family like that, how can we not SOAR?!?!

Amazing class – thank you Terri, Gwen, Ursula, and Mallory. I loved the journal for our stories, to have the heart of a child and collect stories. There were so many important tips and learning opportunities and I think that the tips about bringing along an employee who may not be engaged or challenging will be of great benefit to me long term. As a new facilitator I honestly had not thought that someone might not be fully engaged — so these tips will help keep me grounded and ready to support everyone. Thank you!

I loved how we learned that a strong opening and a strong close are so vitally important. We get to tell a bit about our personal experience and our story in a sincere way of bonding and sharing with others while empathizing with their fears, hopes and wishes as they picture their career with Phoenix. As always, I learned so much it is hard to choose ONE thing 🙂

I am very grateful of all the wonderful tips and techniques that Terri shared with us last week in regards to keeping our group moving forward and staying present in the moment. I intend on using many of the techniques while teaching our new caregivers how to care for our clients. I hope that I can inspire each caregiver as much as I am inspired by each of my coworkers daily!

    Terri,

What a great class! I love how you touched on every part of how to facilitate! How important it is that the facilitators dress properly, be prepared, make eye contact, take a strong and confident stance. I love your tips on open and close strong! I like how you say be yourself and always leave them wanting more! Great stuff!! Thanks you so much!

We have such a wonderful group of individuals that understand that we are stronger when we help each other grow! Learning to lead from other amazing leaders will make Phoenix stronger, together! Not meaning to sound like a political ad….

Love our leaders for tomorrow’s growth!
